Summer Reading Begins . . .
Monday, June 25 - 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
This is our group's turn to discuss Ela Library's "One Book:
title The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Pick
up your copy at the Readers' Services Desk. Large print and
audio versions of the book are available as well. You'll learn
what common products that are still popular today made their
debut at the Columbian Exposition of 1893. This duel story of
a serial killer who preyed upon Fair goers and the master
planners who worked to create beauty out of swampy section of
ignored Chicago property will keep you turning the pages! A
themed door prize will be awarded and of course, refreshments
will be served!
Monday, July 23 - 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
This is our summer Reading Roundtable Discussion. Bring what
you've been reading this summer to share with the group. A
bibliography from the group's titles will be created and
available at our September meeting.
