The Friends' board voted to dissolve the Friends organization as of our fiscal year ending August 2010. We have limited board members who have put in many volunteer hours over the years. We have not been able to fill officer positions the last several years. Volunteers have stepped forward for committee positions but not officer positions. Officers are ready to move on to other commitments.
Current memberships will run through September 1,2010. Our assets will be donated back to the Library according to the Letter of the Law under our by-laws for our 501 (c)(3) organization. January was our final Used Book Sale. We will not accept any material donations beginning January 25, 2010.
Since the inception of the Friends in 1981, we have given back to the Library over $220,000. We sincerely appreciated your loyal support over the years.
