The Outreach department maintains two informational kiosks. The kiosk on the first floor is in the Popular Materials area near the Magazines and is designed to provide information on a variety of issues for the older adult as well as to publicize library events.Literature from local resources such as the Low Vision Support Group, Barrington Area Council on Aging, Ela Township "55-Plus" can all be found on this kiosk.
The Caregiver's Kiosk is located near the Reference Desk on the second floor and is designed to be a "one-stop" resource for those in a care giving role. Information on area support groups, classes for caregivers, as well as books and DVD's on such topics as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease and other subjects are found on this kiosk.
Adapt-a-Lap Devices
Adapt-a-Lap devices are available for patrons who have difficulty holding a book or who have other mobility problems. These devices will hold the book, and are designed to allow patrons to follow text line by line. They can be utilized while seated in a chair or lying in a bed. Adapt-a-Lap may be borrowed by library district patrons for a 4-week period.

There are two wheelchairs available for in library use. Inquire at the Information Desk.
