Obtaining a Library Card
To apply for a free library card, please bring two forms of
identification, one showing proof of current address within the Ela Area Public
Library District to the Circulation Desk. The Library District includes most,
but not all, of Lake Zurich, Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods, and some surrounding
unincorporated areas. To obtain an Ela library card you must live within our
District.
You can use your library card at other public libraries in Illinois as part of
the reciprocal borrowing program. People with cards from outside the Ela library
district can use the Ela library. Please bring your library card and identification,
so we can open an account for you.
