The Library offers access to both digital books and videos. Access the following collections twenty-four hours a day using any computer connected to the Internet.
Books for Children
- TumbleBook Library - animated, talking picture books for children.
Books (and Videos) for All Ages
- North Suburban Digital Consortium - downloadable videos, audiobooks, ebooks. Includes fiction and nonfiction.

Reference and Computer Books
- Gale Virtual Reference Library - keyword searchable encyclopedias and reference ebooks.
- Safari Books Online - recent
and high demand computer and technology ebooks.
Online collection of animated, talking picture books for children created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which children can read, or have read to them. Books are viewable through your computer monitor.

North Suburban Digital Consortium
Download audiobooks or ebooks that can be listened to or viewed on your computer, transferred to a portable device (Pocket PC or MP3 player), or burned to a CD. Includes fiction and non-fiction audiobooks and ebooks for all ages. Also, now includes videos to download and watch on your laptop or PC.
What do you need?
All you need is a valid Ela Library card and the following free software for the type of digital book that you wish to borrow.
- Audiobooks - requires Overdrive Media Console and Windows Media Player (version 10 or above recommended).
- Adobe eBooks - requires Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 7 or above recommended).
- Mobipocket eBooks - requires Mobipocket Reader.
- Videos - requires Overdrive Media Console and Windows Media Player (version 10 or above recommended).

Gale Virtual Reference Library
Keyword searchable encyclopedias and reference books related to the arts, biographies, business, education, environment, general reference, history, information and publishing, law, literature, medicine, multicultural studies, nation and world, religion, science, and social science. These titles are online versions of the same Gale print reference resources found in many library reference collections.
What do you need?
All of the included titles are keyword searchable and viewable on your computer screen.
Access hundreds of computer, IT and other recent and high demand technology titles from O’Reilly Media, The Pearson Technology Group and other key publishers.

Check with librarian for username and password to access within the Library. Remote users only need their Ela Library card barcode number.
