Making Computer Printouts
- When you print a document, a dialog box will appear showing the number of pages you plan to print and how much it will cost.
- Click the Print button and then enter your first and last name so you can identify your print job when you go to pick it up.
- If you wish, you can assign a password of your choice to prevent others from accidentally printing out your document. You will need the password to retrieve and print the document.
- Once your print job is submitted, you will be told at which print release station you can pick up your document and when the job will expire.
NOTE:
All print jobs must be picked up before they expire or they will be automatically deleted. Print jobs expire 2 hours after they are submitted or when the Library closes for the day, whichever comes first.
Paying for and Picking up Printouts
- Once you submit your print job, you will need to go to one of our three print release stations to pay for and/or retrieve it. The three print release stations are located:
- Outside the Children's Computer Lab (1st floor)
- Behind the Adult Reference Desk (2nd floor)
- In the Adult Computer Lab (2nd floor)
- Login at the release station using your first and last name, then select your print jobs from the list and click either the Print or Delete button.
- Once you submit your documents for printing, you will be prompted to pay the appropriate amount of money. Next to each print release station is a vend machine where you can deposit coins (using nickels, dimes or quarters), bills (in $1 and $5 denominations), or print/copy vend cards to pay for your print jobs. If you are using cash, you can deposit up to a maximum of $5 to make printouts.
Obtaining a Print/Copy Vend Card
Ela Area Public Library Tax District Residents
Residents who come in person to the Circulation Desk on the first floor and present their own personal Ela Area Public Library card are eligible to receive one free print/copy vend card containing $35 worth of credit each calendar year.
- The person named on the library card must be present to request a print/copy vend card. All residents, including children, who have their own personal Ela Area Public Library card, are eligible to request their own print/copy vend card.
- The Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, misplaced, or otherwise unavailable print/copy vend cards. The Library will not issue new cards to district residents for any reason until after January 1 of the following calendar year.
- Print/copy vend cards have no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash or used to pay for other Library fees or services.
Non-District Residents
Anyone may purchase a print/copy vend card from our card dispenser machine located in the front lobby on the first floor. Each card will cost $1 and will contain 50 cents worth of credit.
NOTE: The print/copy vend cards can also be used at the Library's black & white photocopiers.
Checking and Adding Credit on a Card
- You can check the amount of credit you have remaining on your print/copy vend card either at the card dispenser machine in our front lobby or at any of our print release stations.
- Both the card dispenser and release stations allow you to add credit to your print/copy vend cards. All of them will accept bills in $1, $5, $10, and $20 denominations. You can deposit up to a maximum of $50 dollars of credit on your print/copy vend card.
