Event Coordinator

Ela Area Public Library District

The Ela Area Public Library seeks an energetic and friendly part-time Event Coordinator to lead and enhance public services and community engagement. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating library programs for adults and families under the direction of the Public Information Coordinator. This position also participates as a member of library-wide committees, including the social media team. Candidates must be self-starting and capable of working autonomously on assigned projects with excellent time management skills. (Posted 3/15/2018).

The Ela Area Public Library is a progressive and customer service focused library located in the community of Lake Zurich, in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. The Public Information Department, staffed by a dedicated team of individuals, encompasses a wide range of services including the creation and development of marketing materials for the library.

Requirements: Bachelors Degree required. MLS preferred.  Previous programming experience for a not-for-profit group is desirable.  Computer and phone skills required.  Strong community involvement and local contacts are highly desirable.

Starting Salary: $18.68 per hour.

Hours: 15 hours per week. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
