Teen Writers And Artist Project Workshop & Open Mic

In partnership with the Ela Public Library, Teen Writers and Artists Project Presents their cornerstone program, "Wordplay," a popular event based on the longest-running youth open mic in the city of Chicago, held by Young Chicago Authors. The event will begin with a writing workshop designed to let each participant speak their truth, followed by an open mic (open for poetry, music, comedy, storytelling, etc.), followed by a featured performance from T-WAAP staff Teaching Artists Adam Gottlieb and Corey Dillard. All are welcome; youth voices (ages 12-25) will be prioritized on the open mic.
