February is about wellness and connection—and we bring both to you with the new online tool GetSetUp, available for free with your Ela Library card. February highlights:

Thanks to the generosity of our community, EAPL's Mitten Tree collected 438 items this season! Donations included hats, gloves, scarves, blankets, socks and many mittens/gloves. 

Here are our recommendations of the best books for adults, teens and kids -- curated by our staff. All of the books listed are in the Library's catalog and many are available in other formats, including audiobooks and e-books. Happy reading!

In a continued effort to strengthen community support and increase access to essential resources, Ela Area Public Library has officially launched a free food assistance pantry inside the library.

The Library's Veteran's Tree returns in November.

Ask about EAPL's board game lending library. It's FREE and a great way to check out fun new games! 

The collection features games for preschoolers, elementary ages, tweens and up. Lending period is 3 weeks.

October is Family History Month! Learn how to research your genealogy from the ground up in this four-week course designed to help you master the fundamentals of research. Each week, instruction focuses on a different record type ranging from home sources to census schedules and more.

Library Service Disruptions Aug. 29-Sep. 2

Incoming kindergarten students (with an adult) are invited to this open house event at the Library on Tues., Aug. 5 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. or Wed., Aug. 6 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Stop in to meet other families who will become a part of your school community. Activities include:

Are you a local business? Team up with the Library and participate in our Show Us Your Card & Save campaign from September 1-30. As a partnering business, you agree to offer a unique deal on a good and/or service when presented an Ela Area Public Library card in September.

Help support District 95 children in need and donate a new Crayola product at all or any of the Library's upcoming outdoor concerts this summer. Needed items include:

Get ready to soak up the sunset with some good music as the Library's Outdoor Summer Concert Series kicks off in July. This year's lineup includes crowd-pleasing tribute bands as well as rock and soul smash hits the 1960s and beyond.

Four trustees were elected to the Library’s Board of Trustees in April. Newcomers Betty Birner, Adam Gira and Karol Sucec along with re-elected trustee Cathy McCauley, serving her second term, were sworn in May 20. Each are serving a four-year term.
